Pictures don't lie: Auburn coach Gene Chizik (left) had a good day last Saturday. Connecticut's Randy Edsall did not.
It only took Auburn two plays and 12 seconds to grab the momentum, then Mississippi (No. 25 BCS, No. 24 AP) snatched it back with a couple huge runs. The Tigers weathered that wild third-quarter swing and rode a resurgent offense to a 33-20 win over the Rebels in Saturday’s SEC Network Game of the Week.
Connecticut wanted badly to win for slain teammate Jasper Howard, but it was Tim Brown (who grew up with Howard in Miami) whose 81-yard TD pass with 22 seconds left gave the Scarlet Knights an improbable 28-24 victory over the Huskies in UConn’s first home game since Howard’s death.
