JUMPERS, FLOOR BURNS...

Sounds like basketball, and we’re ready to roll. Come mid-November, ESPN Regional Television's owned basketball events will hit the hard wood, and these are the faces to know. It’s fitting that the inaugural Charleston Classic tees off first, followed by the second annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off, the Old Spice Classic and the Anaheim Classic. These tournaments have a way of making names for athletes who do well. Michael Beasley and O.J. Mayo (who starred in the Old Spice and Anaheim Classics, respectively, last year, come to mind …).

WHO'S GOT NEXT?
FOOTBALL: MEAC/SWAC Challenge
Doug Williams is known to deliver passes in the clutch, but as the keynote speaker at the fourth annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge, the former Super Bowl MVP delivered a message that set the tone for the game--and the weekend. Hampton University took Williams' words to heart, converting on a pair of second half turnovers to rally past Jackson State 17-13. For more information on the game, go to www.meacswacchallenge.com.
BASKETBALL: O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off | 11.20.08
Memphis coach John Calipari wants you--that's right, you!--to put the second annual O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off on your agenda. After all, eight conferences will be represented in one of the most diverse lineups of the college basketball season, starting Nov. 20. Need more incentive? It's 12 games over three days at the state-of-the-art Coliseo de Puerto Rico, in the cosmopolitan Hato Rey district of San Juan. Visit www.puertoricotipoff.com for more details. (Coach Calipari doesn’t like taking no for an answer.)
